Where you find the laws most numerous, there you will also find the greatest injustice.
The Foundation of Employment Law is Fairness
There's a raft of employment law that has been developed to ensure fairness at work. Anti discriminatory law stops discrimination on the basis of gender, religion, age, race, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, ethnic or national origin or membership of a trades union - yet it still happens. There have been many guidelines developed by ACAS (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) including Disciplinary and Grievance procedures - but unfortunately some employers choose to ignore them.
How Have You Been Treated?
Have you been asked to attend a disciplinary meeting and need some advice?
Have you been dismissed and don't believe you've been treated fairly?
Have you been selected for redundancy and believe somebody else should have been selected?
Is your employer trying to impose a change of employment terms?
Have you been bullied or harassed by another staff member or manager and you're unsure what to do?
Do you need help to prepare for an employment tribunal?
These are some of the problems you may need help with - you need advice from somebody who knows and understands employment law and advises individuals and businesses every working day. Perhaps you need a review of a new employment contract or policy your employer is introducing or you need advice on how to take your ex employer to an employment tribunal. Whatever your situation we may be able to help - and remember, your initial meeting or discussion is free.
Problems we've managed for individual clients include:
Discrimination during recruitment
An employer not following procedures during disciplinary and grievance meetings
Incorrectly drafted employment contracts
Unfair dismissal
Bullying at work
